<p>for our child, because of the experienced and professional medical advice of one Dr. Jenny McCarthy (i say Dr. because im sure posing in Playboy and hosting a dating game show qualifies one for a medical degree) and unfortunately our kid has autism anyway and on top of that has come down with a horrendous case of mumps. What methods of healing him should we undertake? I was thinking some homeopathic remedies, but my wife is insisting on a combination of chiropractic and reiki treatments.

If your child isn’t overly sensitive to smells I would recommend a ginger paste by mixing ginger powder with water and applying the paste to the mumps to decrease swelling and pain.
LOL I got a kick out of your Jenny McCarthy comments. While I am happy for her child not everyone has the money for the therapy and diet that was afforded to her son…yet she apparently misses this point.
Edit: I suppose I got he thumbs down for not lecturing you about vaccinations. Hmm whats done is done and all you could do at this point would be to deal with the kid’s symptoms.

I had the mumps as a kid, I spent 2 weeks in bed, eating chicken soup and avoiding anything vaguely acidic as it made my neck sort of twinge and hurt like heck. Even baby aspirin did that. Rest and minimize his exposure to other people that may have been as dumb as you 2 and not vaccinated him.
I suffered through chicken pox, had the measles 3 times, German measles at age 16, mumps, whooping cough, all before vaccinations were available and none of these were a joke, as your question is written. Get that kid vaccinated.
In this day and age of organ transplants, you do realize your kid or you could expose an innocent person whose immune system is compromised from a transplant you could kill them?? Please rethink you position on this.

It’s a serious shame that you decided not to vaccinate. Not only do you put your child at risk, you also put others at risk too, like small children too young to be vaccinated, or others with immune problems. It is apalling that in this day and age kids are getting mumps and measels again. This anti-vaccination rubbish has a death toll attached to it.
Near to where live, we have a whooping cough epidemic outbreak and have had one young baby die (a horrible death). All because vaccinations are down in the area and herd immunity is lost.
Please do not even consider further quackery such as homeopathic treatments. THEY DO NOTHING.
We have a case here in Australia at the moment where a homeopath is on trial for refusing his 9 MONTH OLD daughter conventional treatment for ECZEMA, instead treating her with homeopathy, and allowing her to die. What a horrendous agonizing painful way for this baby to die. All because of in what in reality is a just a belief system. I’m shocked that in 2009, in a first world country, a baby can die from eczema, a treatable condition.
